Description
The Polivoks is the most popular Russian vintage synthesizer from the early 80’s and was one of the first synthesizers made in the USSR. It is a pure analog synthesizer with two-voice polyphony, two oscillators each with a triangle, square and sawtooth waveform, two types of pulse waveforms and a noise generator whose level is controlled by the internal mixer. Although the oscillators can be unstable and difficult to tune, the Polivoks is good for creating screaming sounds and thunderous bass. You can also connect an external audio input, which is processed by the Polivok’s switchable dual-mode bandpass/lowpass filter and LFO sections. The LFO or “modulator” provides triangle, square, random and noise waveforms and can be applied to the oscillator level and pitch or filter cutoff. There are also two ADSR envelopes for controlling the oscillators and filters.
