The Wave 2.0 is very far ahead of its time, it has a full multimode and you can record filter changes etc. on the sequencer! While the 2.0 has an OSC, it has the extremely desired filters! 60 Waves + (4 Basic Waves) make a wavetable, each wave and transition consists of additive mirrored single cycle waves (digital). These waves are created by additive 32 harmonics, the 360 and the Wave 2 had 32 wavetables, they simulate a filter sweep and much more (formant sweeps etc.), On the Waveterm A you could create your own waves and wavetables and even analyze samples (8bit). The PPG Wave 2 is the legendary digital/analog hybrid from the 1980s that inspired generations of synthesizers. The Wave 2 featured digital oscillators that could generate up to 8000 unique waveforms, modified by analog filter and amplifier circuits. The PPG Wave also featured 8-voice polyphony, an 8-track sequencer, and a control panel with 21 parameter knobs and a digital display where patches could be stored. The PPG Wave 2 is significant in that it pioneered wavetable synthesis.
